ABSTRACT
Gloucester, Massachusetts, October 1991: The swordfishing vessel Andrea Gail, helmed by hard-up Captain Billy Tyne, is brought back out to sea one last time for the season following an unsatisfactory catch. Unfortunately for Tyne and his crew, the Andrea Gail sails into the heart of a historically intense late-season disturbance later known as 'The Perfect Storm' after heading out beyond its usual fishing boundaries, presenting a challenge going far beyond any sailor's worst case scenario for all aboard.
